Step back into Albany's convict past
Night tours of Albany Convict Gaol, built by convicts in 1852, are now operated by private contractors on behalf of the Albany Historical Society.
We invite you to come along and -
- See the Hangman's Yard, where Peter McKean (top right) met his end
- Hear ghostly tales
- View aboriginal cell art
- See the death mask of mass murderer Frederick Bailey Deeming (bottom right)
- Experience extreme darkness in the Black Hole - if you dare!
Every Friday and Saturday evening - or plan your own
Regular tours are scheduled for each Friday and Saturday evening, or you can get a group of 6 or more together for a special tour on the night of your choice.
